Northern fishes play a key role in northern ecosystems and support highly valued commercial, recreational, and subsistence fisheries. Our research focuses on how these fishes are responding to co-occurring and potentially interacting environmental changes such as warming and human development.

Warming rates in northern regions are 2 to 3 times global levels. These impacts are having complex and cascading effects on northern biodiversity as the landscape changes and more warm-adapted species move in.
Many northern regions remain relatively intact compared to the south. Our research aims to safeguard northern fish biodiversity by providing evidence-based conservation solutions to northern practitioners.
